In the few hours of the morning, before the first rays of sun had pierced the sky, Relish Catering + Hospitality’s truck was pulling onto a side street in Tribeca ready to transform the street into a culinary oasis for the Charity Riders of New York City’s Annual 5 Boro Bike Tour.
As off-premise caterers, Relish specializes in bringing exceptional dining experiences to any location, regardless of the challenges posed by unconventional settings. As the streets were blocked off and hundreds of bike racks began to be placed along the streets, the Relish team wasted no time in turning the empty street into a fully functional kitchen and buffet area.
They seamlessly set up shop, utilizing innovative solutions to overcome the unique logistical constraints of the urban environment. Tents were pitched and a kitchen was assembled seemingly out of thin air while buffet tables were lined up down the street. Always mindful of our environmental impact, Relish utilized compostable and recyclable materials for serving. Our biodegradable utensils, plates, and cups were provided, allowing participants to indulge in their meals without worry, knowing that sustainability was at the forefront of the feast.
As the sun rose over the city, a sea of 1,500 cyclists descended upon the breakfast tables full of vibrant, fresh fruit, tantalizing pastries, hearty bagels, and an assortment of flavorful spreads. With bikes in hand and hunger in their bellies, participants eagerly queued up to partake in the feast before the day’s rigorous ride.
A couple of hours later and a few blocks up the road, amidst the bustling energy and anticipation at the starting line, the starting horn reverberated through the air, signaling the commencement of the race. Fueled by the nourishing breakfast provided by Relish, the cyclists embarked on their journey through the five boroughs, ready to conquer the challenging course ahead.
