Annual Gala – HelpUSA

Relish Catering + Hospitality’s decadent, themed stations were the star of HelpUSA’s Annual Gala. The party started indoors in a room adorned with ballons, streamers, and table decorations all in the organization’s red, gold, and white colors. There, the Mezze station and San Gennaro stations greeted guests. The Mezze offered a taste of the Mediterranean featuring Beet Muhumara, Green Chickpea Hummus, Eggplant Cherry Tomato Zaalouk with Ricotta Salata, and hot dishes of Spanakopita and Lamb Borek. A diverse affair, the San Gennaro station boasted Italian flavors – Rigatoni with foraged mushrooms and black truffle and penne pasta with Pesto Genovese, parmesan and arugula.

The party spilled over into a heated tent in the courtyard, where guests were greeted by Chef Marisela slicing herb crusted Amish chicken breasts and pan seared petite beef tender at the Bronx Carvery station. The fresh carvery was accompanied by twice baked cheddar and chive baby potatoes, a classic Caesar salad, and a plethora of housemade sauces including chimichurri, carrot ginger coulis, and beet soubise.

Across the tent, the bartenders at the non-alcoholic “bar” served a specialty mocktail. The Cold Weather Mule featuring fresh ginger and sage, cranberries, pear, and allspice was perfect complement to the holiday cheer filling the air. Later into the evening, passed sweets made their way around the tent. Apple frangipane galettes made with local Hudson Valley apples, Lamington cake bites smothered in chocolate ganache and coconut, and lemon meringue tartlets for those seeking a more refreshing bite.

Here at Relish, holiday parties are some of our favorite events to put on. The cheer, the excitement for the upcoming holidays, and the buzz of conversation as friends catch up is infectious and we are thrilled to be able to contribute to this atmosphere with our food, beverages, and service. Is it too soon to say we are looking forward to 2024’s holiday parties?!
