Rain or Shine…again!

Relish Catering + Hospitality was honored to cater the VIP tent at the 2024 Global Citizen Festival, marking the 12th consecutive year partnering with Global Citizen on the Great Lawn in Central Park. As one of New York’s top sustainable catering companies, Relish takes pride in aligning with Global Citizen’s mission of creating a more sustainable and equitable world. This year, Relish’s commitment to sustainability was evident throughout the menu and service, with eco-friendly materials used for serving tools and a plant-forward selection of dishes. Hosting over 3,000 guests in the VIP tent, Relish was thrilled to provide an unforgettable culinary experience to complement such a pivotal day in giving back to our world.

Global Citizen Festival isn’t just about entertainment—it’s a platform for powerful action. The world watched as Brazil, Micronesia, and Colombia made bold commitments to protect oceans and forests. In a step toward equity, the United Kingdom, Denmark, and Spain pledged to support 77 of the world’s poorest countries, calling on other nations to follow suit. Additionally, a staggering $1 billion was announced as part of Global Citizen’s 2024 campaign to end extreme poverty. It was a monumental year, with Global Citizens taking a record 3.4 million actions to tackle poverty, defend the planet, and demand equity.

Sustainability Front and Center on the Menu
At Relish, sustainability is more than a trend — it’s the core of what we do. Relish continuously seeks ways to reduce environmental footprint while providing exceptional service. This year’s menu highlighted Relish’s sustainable approach partnering with Impossible Foods, curating menu items including the Impossible Tinga Tacos and Impossible Muffaletta Sliders, served on eco-friendly flatware. From carefully curated plant-based options to the mindful sourcing of ingredients, Relish emphasizes the importance of sustainability with every dish served.

Guests in the VIP tent enjoyed an array of hors d’oeuvres, including the crowd-favorite “Posty” Fried Mozzarella Stick Duo with Carbone marinara sauce. As the evening progressed, Relish introduced small plates including the Impossible Sausage and Peppers Hero, Korean “chicken-less” BBQ Bao Bun, and the Global Citizen Chili Relleno. The menu also included Maple-Glazed Acorn Squash and Sweet Potatoes, and Carbone Rigatoni alla Vodka, ensuring a well-rounded, flavorful experience for every guest.
