As we honor Earth Day and embrace the spirit of renewal, it’s vital to consider the influence the events industry has on our environment. At Relish Catering + Hospitality, sustainability is at the core of everything we do in our catering and event planning.

At Relish, “Getting to Zero Together” is our commitment to sourcing sustainable and local ingredients. Our chefs take a global approach to menu creation, preparing farm-to-fork experiences across a broad culinary landscape all while sourcing local organic ingredients. By opting for eco-friendly options and plant-forward menus, we help reduce water usage, solid waste, electricity, and emissions. 

In addition, we are dedicated to minimizing waste throughout our operations. We recycle cooking oil, compost, and collaborate with food rescue organizations to ensure that any surplus meals are distributed to those in need, including Covenant House New York. So far in 2025, we have donated 300 lbs. of food.

Beyond our efforts in food preparation and waste management, we commit to using biodegradable packaging and natural materials like wood, steel, and glass, which help reduce plastic usage and other harmful materials. By working with vendors who share similar sustainability and ethical values, we collectively contribute to reducing our environmental impact.

While we recognize that we still have challenges ahead, we remain ahead in our commitment to making a difference and assisting our clients in achieving their sustainability goals—one delightful bite at a time.
