A little rain outside couldn’t dampen the atmosphere inside the Global Citizen Festival VIP Experience Tent.
September 23rd, 2023 marked Relish’s 11th consecutive year working with Global Citizen creating the ultimate VIP experience at the legendary Global Citizen Festival in Central Park for 3,000 VIP ticket holders. Guests gathered in the tent and on the Great Lawn to learn about Global Citizen’s dedication to improving the lives of millions around the globe, listen to a world-class line up of talent and indulge in Relish Catering + Hospitality culinary delights and cocktails. The Global Citizen Festival is an annual music festival bringing together fans, Global Citizens, artists, activists, world leaders, philanthropists, corporate leaders, and more, with the collective mission to End Extreme Poverty NOW. Music guests included Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Jung Kook, Anitta, Conan Cray, D-Nice, Sofia Carson, and Stray Kids.
Relish’s menu was 100% plant-based – Executive Chef, Mark Russel and his team curated an exemplary menu designed with rich grains, hearty vegetables, and delicious Impossible™ meat options donated by Impossible™ Foods. The novel request for a plant-based menu wow’s guests with each pass onto the floor and each replenish of the buffet.
The bar featured an impressive selection of premium spirits, wines, beers, and specialty beverages. Specialty cocktails included an Espresso Martini with Tito’s Vodka and Owen’s Nitro-Infused Espresso Martini Mix, and a Kentucky Mule with Great Jones Bourbon and Owen’s Ginger Beer. Teremana Tequila had a pop-up cart in the VIP Tent, as well – serving The People’s Margarita with their Tequila Blanco and a Mana Paloma with Teremana Blanco and Owen’s Rio Red Grapefruit Juice.

Global Citizen Live works tremendously each year to increase sustainability efforts to make our world a better place. Relish Catering + Hospitality was responsible for compostable cutlery, plates and a plant-based menu. TURN provided their signature reusable cups for all soft and alcohol beverages and branded receptacles ensuring that no single-use cups ended up in the trash. PATH water contributed by donating thousands of aluminum reusable water bottles for guests to take home and use again and again.
To continuously partake in movements to make our world a better place is gratifying. A huge thank you to Global Citizen for choosing us to be the exclusive VIP tent caterer for 11 years in a row – We are honored time and time again.
